Get Healthy skin easily at home

Skin is the protective shield of human body. It is much more than just the outer surface for other people to see. It protects the body from infection (bacteria), ultraviolet rays, dirt and other foreign objects. Skin also converts sunlight into vitamin D which helps in normal growth and development of bones. Skin is also the sensory organ that covers the largest area in a human body from head to toe. It contains nerves that let you know if an object is too hot or too cold.

Skin having all the versatile function is the prominent sense organ of human body. For a person to be healthy, having healthy skin is the first and foremost requirement. As without a healthy skin a person cannot be healthy. Healthy skin assists to boost the confidence of person and helps in their personality development as well. A person with clear and healthy skin leaves a good impression on people making them more social. Unhealthy skin might also be fatal as sometimes it may lead to skin cancer. Some of the ways to get healthy skin at home are listed below:


1. Drinking Water :

Skin cell like any other cell are made of water. Drinking adequate water everyday hydrates skin making it fresh, healthy, smooth, radiant, glowing and wrinkle free. Lack of water causes the skin to dry up and form wrinkles. Drink at least 8 glasses of water for a visible result. Two liters is the minimum amount of water required for healthy skin.

2. Tomato juice :

One can directly drink or apply tomato juice for achieving healthy skin. Applying tomato juice can help to cure sunburn as well as untan skin. Regular consumption of tomato juice regulates the production of sebum in oily skin. It also shrinks open pores protecting skin from harmful dust and fumes. A red tomato can be cut into two half and crushed to a thick paste and applied evenly to the skin. The paste is to be applied evenly around the skin and washed off after it dries. Tomato paste can be applied each alternate day for about a month.

3. Aloe Vera juice :

Aloe Vera juice helps to reduce the acne formation making the skin healthy. Aloe Vera juice can be consumed or applied directly to the skin. Drinking aloe juice also assists to prevent psoriasis and dermatitis. Psoriasis is chronic skin disorder that makes your immune system harm your body. Dermatitis is term denoting skin inflammation. The gel inside of aloevera is to be applied thoroughly over the skin. The thick and clear gel can be used daily.

4. Papaya Juice :

Papaya juice helps to unclog pores of skin and prevent acne. The enzyme papain present in papaya juice helps to dissolve the dead skin cell and give a glowing skin. You can blend ½ cups of papaya into fine paste. Apply the paste all over your face and neck, leave it on for 15 minutes and pat dry.

5. Neem :

Neem leaves is mostly used for acquiring healthy skin. Using neem water as a skin toner, helps to clear acne, scars, pigmentation, blackheads as well as prevents skin from drying.  For a neem water recipe, boil 20 neem leaves in a litre of water till the water turns green and store it in a bottle.  Apply  the neem water in a cotton and rub it in a skin.  Neem leaves helps to avoid dandruff by delaying the skin aging.

6. Tea tree oil :

Tea tree oil cause access acne in skin. It also works to reduce the infection in cuts and heal the wound preventing skin infection. It has a soothing component that helps to reduce inflammation of skin. Applying tea-tree oil with honey helps to moisturise the skin.

7. Lemon :

Citric acid and vitamin C present in lemon helps to heal acne and brighten your skin. However, lemon can make skin light sensitive but using sunscreen after applying lemon helps to avoid the problem. Rubbing a lemon rind over skin can help to get rid of oily skin, blemish scars, get rid of dark spots and helps to lighten skin over time.

8. Honey :

Honey is full of anti bacterial and anti oxidants. So it helps prevent acne and aging. Honey gives a soothing feeling to skin giving it a natural glow. Applying one teaspoon of honey on a clean dry skin works as a moisturising mask. The mask can be washed off with plain water after 12-20 minutes


9. Rose water:

Mostly rosewater helps to tone the skin. Its contracting nature helps to tighten the pore and gently heal the skin. Rose water can also be used with other ingredients like turmeric powder which acts as bleaching agent  and heal acne scars as well. Rose water can be used as toner. Rose water can be dabbed into a cotton ball and used to rub the dirt off skin.

11. Raw milk:

Raw milk has fats that can be used as moisturiser, it also helps to tighten skin when used as a facial pack. Raw milk has probiotics which balances the bad bacteria in your gut, giving you a healthy skin. MIlk mixed with turmeric also act as antiseptic which heals serious skin condition like: psoriasis, poison ivy and eczema. The mixture can also heal dry and chapped lips.

Individual ingredient can also be mixed and used as per compatibility and need for better result. Raw milk can be mixed with corn flour to exfoliate skin to remove dead skin cell. Similarly mixing gram flour with turmeric and water also helps remove dead skin cells. Honey can be mixed with turmeric and lemon with better result as the mixed ingredient can better heal acne. Honey can act as the mild agent against the citric acid that makes the skin light sensitive. Also various other ingredient can be mixed and made into pack to get healthy and glowing skin.
